508th Parachute Infantry Regiment. Red Devils.
The 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment (PIR) was activated in 1942 at Camp Blanding, Florida. The regiment was made up of soldiers from the 502nd Parachute Infantry Regiment and the 26th Infantry Division. Two battalions from the regiment are currently active with the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Liberty, NC.
